Honda Civic TYPE R Officially coming to Canada!

Great news for hot-hatch enthusiasts: The new Honda Civic Type R will be sold in Canada, the manufacturer confirmed. The exact release date has yet to be disclosed, however.

Unveiled on April 2nd at the New York Auto Show alongside the tenth-generation Civic, the Honda Civic Type R has developed a huge following over the years, even though it remained unavailable in North America.

Producing 306 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque from a 2.0L 4-cylinder VTEC turbocharged engine mated to a 6-speed manual transmission, the Honda Civic Type R can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 5.7 seconds. For the record, the upcoming Ford Focus RS takes 4.6 seconds and the Volkswagen Golf R completes the sprint in 4.9 seconds.
